Not gonna lie. I spent most of my time being angry at the MC the whole time.
3.75/5 stars
This was different than I expected. It was a more gritty romance contemporary. I would've liked to read a more sweeter contemporary, but it was still a nice read.

had the potential to be so good?? beginning was great and then the middle and end is like so eh and not good!
this is the worst book i’ve read all year
•main character: annoying and judgmental
•love interest: boring and trashy
•friends: annoying
•side characters: there was literally no good characters in this book except possibly Lissa and even that’s debatable
the plot was nonexistent and the story was stale. i felt like i was in prison the entire time i was reading this shit.
do better Sarah
p.s. i literally threw this book in the recycling bin when i finished it bc i didn’t even feel right donating it. absolutely garbage if i could actually give it zero stars, i would.

I would have liked more pages about the dysfunctional bandmates and less pages about "but i HAVE to be a stone cold bitch or what's the point?"
This Lullaby is an easy, but enjoyable read. Sarah Dessen has a talent for reaching into the psyche of a teenage girl and be able to convey what almost everyone has felt at one point in their lives, especially when we were young(er). I enjoy reading her books because it reminds me that no matter what I am going through, someone has been through, felt it, and dealt with it. As a writer I like how she is able to capture strong emotions, and help the reader relate to her characters to a point where you almost feel like it is you who are truly experiencing them.

my favorite Sarah dessert book bc I'm a sucker for dark haired stupid musicians. and also I. a huge cynic bitch so it gives me hope that even I'll be able to find love.
This one was boring, it could've been shortened by at least 50 or 100 pages. I also was creeped out by Dexter. Talk about stalking.
This Lullaby was a story about finding love even when you don’t believe in it, loss, heartbreak and discovering who you are after a period of change. Remy has never believed in love, this is mostly due to her mother’s failed marriages. Remy’s father wrote a song for her after he heard the news that his wife was pregnant. Remy never knew her father and was always uncomfortable with the song, she didn’t like to listen to it. When she meets Dexter, her opinions shift and she doesn’t treat him the same as her other past boyfriends. There is no speech or set date for breaking it off. For once, Remy actually feels something more than simply for a one night stand. It was a sweet and heartbreaking story all at once, it was like dark chocolate, bitter with only a touch of sweetness. Dessen never fails to write a story that makes you feel something more real or that touches your heart.
