I knew from the first page it was going to be boring. But I needed a realistic fiction book for the Fantastic Fifty, so I figured I might as well read it. I found myself watching One Direction music videos playing in the background and skimming over the words instead.

Sarah Dessen's later books are much, much better.

this is probably my favorite sarah dessen book that i've read so far. dexter is such a lovable character.
the musician trope never gets old but their song being titled "the potato song" kinda ruins it for me.

I've finally finished this book. Let me just say this, this book put me into a reading slump. The first few chapters bored me and made me get tired of reading for a while. I eventually read other books without finishing this one. But since I can't leave a book unfinished, I decided to give this book another shot. All in all, I liked it. It had its moments and it was... okay to say the least. :)

Not my favourite of Sarah Dessen's novels, though this is through no fault of the book itself. I simply identifed more with Just Listen and The Truth About Forever. However, as usual the story was heartfelt, well written, and a cut above the typical cliched teen novels that can be found in such abundance now. I also particularly liked that I recognised these characters from their brief but memorable cameo in Just Listen, and I now had a chance to hear their story. That's one of the things I love about Dessen's books - their sense of interconnection, the feeling that everyone and everything is somehow linked together. The three stars is only because I personally related better to those other books, and therefore enjoyed them that little bit more.

Ok so I read this book after reading Just Listen because I loved that book and wanted to read something else by Sarah Dessen. To be honest i didn't really like this book :\. I found it boring and more times than not and I had to make myself finish it.

Cynical girl who doesn't commit to long term relationships meets a musician guy who fits none of her rules.

Like with all Sarah Dessen's books, I picked it up to unwind after a heavy fantasy read, enjoyed it, and will probably forget about the plot soon🙃

This book was absolutely fascinating. The characters were so captivating, and they always wanted me to keep reading on. Remy and Dexter's relationship throughout the book develops significantly. Remy is the type of girl to never open up to her boyfriends or anyone, except her best friends. Dexter was the type of character that kept you reading. His quirky and determined personality draws the reader in. Remy however, is the complete opposite. She is dark, mysterious, and closed off. I guess it is true that opposites do attract. "This Lullaby" is such a refreshing and bubbly young-adult novel. I recommend this book to those who love cute, cheesy romance.

All these years later and it's still my 2nd favorite Dessen novel.

I loved the plot line and found the characters relatable too. It really makes you think about love and how much it hurts but is worth it and even though you get hurt you always try it again. Great read loved it will deffenitly read some other Sarah Dessen books !!!
