This book was a slow read, and it was very wordy where it didn’t need to be. But I like the representation and the fashion descriptions

The writing is as if a millennial was trying way too hard to appeal to gen z and I couldn’t bring myself to keep reading 😭😭😭

Iman Hariri-Kia I will never forgive you for making me have to read the sentence “And you have an empty juul pod where your heart used to be.”

No but seriously, I heard reviews talking about how “cringey” and “millennial (derogatory)” this book was but still really wanted to give it a chance. Sadly, the one dimensional characters, typos, and nonsensical plot made this one of the most unsatisfying reads this year :(

I will say though I read it quickly! Mainly bc I kept skimming through the awkward dialogue though :/

The Gen Z speak was a little too cringe for me - but the depiction of working in NY Media was absolutely spot on.
