I read this for book club.... To be honest I didn't finish it.. It was ok... There didn't seem like there was a story going anywhere... And I ran out of time to finish it.

Evocative of another era, this book is a wonderful character study. There is a plot, but the plot wasn't that compelling to me. The characters, though, were really interesting and exceptionally well drawn.
