Book Review…Kingdom of Broken Iron by Mallory McCartney

Distraught by the decisions she made while in the Draken Mountains with Adair, Emory Fae, Queen of Kiero, is hiding a deadly secret, and now, Emory is seeking aid from Marquis Maher, King of the Shattered Isles, in the looming war.

Together, can Emory and Brokk make an alliance in time to return to Kiero and aid the rebels?

Kingdom of Broken Iron is the 3rd book in the Black Dawn series and picks up right where the second book leaves off. So far every book in this series just gets better and better, everything gets kicked up a notch. There's multiple points of view and I really enjoyed getting to each of the characters more. It's been interesting seeing them all change throughout the series so far. But this time some dark secrets were revealed! It will be interesting to see what happens next! Thank you Rockstar Book Tours and Mallory McCartney for sharing this book with me!

I am not a huge fantasy reader, but came across Mallory’s books a couple of years ago and I must say, I REALLY enjoy this series! I am feeling very invested and cannot wait for the fourth and final instalment to release!!!

If you haven’t started this series, I most definitely recommend you read them in order because SO MUCH STUFF HAPPENS that you need to know before getting to the point of KOBI. This book was jam-packed full of action and progress (but is it??) with some of the characters we have come to know in the previous two books. I don’t want to say too much because I hate spoilers, but I really loved this one. I’m a slow fantasy reader so it took me a bit to get through, but every moment was worth it! Mallory is the type of author who is not afraid to take the story where it needs to go and don’t get attached to anyone because NO ONE is safe.

That’s all I can say for now haha. It’s a great series for Autumn booklists and especially as we come up to Halloween and spooky time (there is magic and creatures in this series!!!) Be sure to pick up your copy and tell your fantasy loving friends about it!!!!

Dark, fast-paced and climatic! This book is everything I want in an epic fantasy. Kingdom of Broken Iron is my favourite book from the series thus far!

The dialogue is witty and fun to read, the art is stunning, the cover is gorgeous, and the contents are legendary! The ending once again has me ready for the next book.

Some author's have this gift, to write a story you feel pulled into, and Mal is one of them. Grabbing you by your shirt front, dragging you into the pages, and not letting you stop reading until you're done.

If you haven't read the first two books, I highly recommend them, and if you have get ready to read a fantastic continuation of the Black Dawn series!

Thank you to the author for a gifted eBook in exchange for an honest review

I was so excited to read the next instalment in the Black Dawn series and this did not disappoint, I needed to know what happened to Emory and Brokk, and now I just feel the exact same way with poor Brokk, I have never held such sympathy for a character before, he just cannot catch a break can he, I love his character development and I honestly cannot wait to see more of it in The Cursed Throne

“Knowledge is the sharpest weapon, if you know how to wield it”

Kingdom of Broken Iron follows both Emory and Brokk as they try to form an alliance to overthrow the Declan and have Emory returned to her rightful place as Queen, the pace in this book is fantastic and its completely action packed and angst ridden, and just full of twists and turns aplenty, I could not put the book down, I needed to know just exactly what happened!

I found that Marquis was such a hit and miss character, half the time I found his character charming and liked him and other times I wanted to have him written out of the story, but I am glad where his character arc seems to be heading, I just hope that the series ends with Emory and Brokk exactly where we want them.

I cannot wait for the next instalment, the author is doing a fantastic job at making me feel 101 different emotions, and I highly recommend this series to fantasy lovers!

This is the third book in this awesome series! There were twists and turns, emotional things, and stuff that had my heart pumping! I loved the multiple POVs in this and especially Emory and Brock!!!!! McCartney strings together another brilliant story full of beautiful writing, action, and swoon. An addicting ride that I didn’t want to end. Perfectly dark and magical!
