Why did I think I was gonna enjoy this book when I didn't enjoy the premise...
It's problematic, and that's the premise. And for some reason I thought it would be ok. It's not like I never enjoy problematic things :P. But it felt mostly icky while reading it. I hated the lying and sneaking around. I skipped a lot of those bits. I did want to finish the book. I wanted to read about when everything was out in the open and there was no more lying. Was it worth it to read on..? Maybe. I don't regret it, but this book is not for me.

I recommend this book to people who think they will enjoy the premise.

All in all a nice story tho I sometimes had to cringe a bit at particular scenes. Big age gap; smut is nice lol

I enjoyed elements of this book but overall it’s wasn’t really a book for me.
If you like super steamy age gaps with extra complications, and some frustrations with communication issues, this might be the book for you.
My biggest issue was the lack of connection I continued to experience between the characters. As the story progressed their emotional relationship didn’t, until right at the end when it suddenly did.
The writing had some beautiful elements and the narrators were absolutely devine.

Everything about this was wonderful, exactly what I needed and honestly exceeded my expectations. Unrealistic in the sense that it was very unlikely that Cassie would just happen to meet her friends mum in a bar and sleep with her. However, very realistic in the back and forth of what to do, not acknowledging how serious it was, setting down rules and then breaking them in ways that ‘don’t count’. It played out so exactly like how I would imagine this situation would. Plus the added relationship between them making everything so much cuter and so so sweet.

Milfy age gap wlw, genuinely what more do you need in life.

Spicy scenes were 10/10, but the storyline felt a little redundant with the "should we/shouldn't we" back and forth. The story was a very unique perspective of younger/older woman relationship, which I haven't seen before and I enjoyed that aspect of it. Overall 4/5 for me just because I was annoyed by the main characters always saying "this is a bad idea, I won't do it again" and then proceeding to do it again and then chastise themselves for it.

well the proof is in the pudding: you'd think a book about a milf and a girl in her 20s would be my kryptonite but the general romance genre is simply not for me :/ i guess i'm too old to connect to cassie's perspective yet too young to relate to erin so this didn't move me at all (i struggled so hard to finish i actually started flipping through the book to find out if they'd ever be Discovered lmao)

and then when they DO get discovered as a couple, it's way too late in the book and there's barely any drama over it! where's the fucked up dynamic where's the toxicity!!!!! hacks hbo has really spoiled me because i couldn't think of this as anything but overly flowery when it's literally a romance book ajdlkajfkldjakljdalk
