HATE this book. The “relationship” the book is centered around is basically manipulation, coercion, and glorified rape.

This is definitely a slow burn, which I feel is true of the regency genre overall. The premise of this books makes it inherently emotional and sad but I did enjoy seeing the Franchesca and Michael find joy after death and amidst their grief. Plus, the spice was on point. I think it’s worth the read even if you’re not particularly into regency, like me. You’ll still find a lot to love about their story.

Another fun romance from Quinn. I loved the banter between Francesca and Michael.

I really enjoyed the 6th installation in the Bridgerton series, I appreciated how much Francesca was at a war with herself over remarrying and her feelings towards Michael and how much depth there is towards her character. Also probably the best 🌶🌶🌶 in the series (so far). I know a lot of people aren’t a fan of pregnancy tropes and tropes surrounding having children but I think it was really well done seeing Francesca’s yearning to have children and struggling to conceive, especially around a family with so many children.
However I wish we got a bit more discussion between Michael and Francesca about Johns passing, as it was such a traumatic event for the both of them although we never seen them actively talks about it together which is a shame, I think it would have put the book up to four stars if we did.

I don't think I've ever seen the word wicked so many times in one book...great New England representation LOL. The release of season two of Bridgerton on Neflix, and the mere 48 hours it took me to finish it inspired this read. Poor Francesca is rarely mentioned and I was extremely curious over this unfortunate forgotten sister. She is so much better than I ever imagined, the show is so unfair to her. And oh god Michael, where to begin about Michael. When it came to his character it was easy to sympathize with him and his mental anguish, but I didn't find him as compelling as Colin. The smut on the other hand...wicked indeed.

Loved the two main characters and their chemistry. It felt a bit like a repetition, their inner struggles of realizing the most important things. But yes. It’s a romance novel and this is the basic premise of it. Juicy sex scenes! 😚

The book started off fairly strong with the death of Francesca’s husband, but for me the effect was ruined by Michael, who came off as predatory at times and it was a struggle for me to get through some of their scenes. I could not get invested in the couple in the slightest, and this was the Bridgerton book that made me feel the most ill while reading.
