Incredible story. Exciting, while full of humor and culture.

A no frills look at what the apocalypse could actually be. I would not survive which isn’t surprising, but it is all the more horrifying to realize I may stand a better chance if it were zombies.

I loved this book. I was drawn in by the narration and  connected to the characters. The purposely simple writing style had me hooked from beginning to end. I’ve already downloaded the sequel.

Such a unique take on an apocalypse story. I love the way the slow burn build-up oozes tension. The idea that a community used to being "in the dark" because of failing infrastructure just writing off everything failing as the way it is sometimes, is such a cool way to start the story. I also love how the scariest part of the world ending isn't gangs, or war, or huge mad max style mayhem, but how desperation and fear can change our community in horribly unthinkable ways.

This story will stay with me for a very long time in my best possible way
