This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were messy and interesting. If you want an entertaining book then this is it for you.

I read this book about a year ago. It has taken me a long time to come to terms with the fact that this book is not what I wanted it to be. I wanted this book to be your normal rom-com but I did not get that. Instead I got an inpowering story about a women finding out what she really wanted and needed. This book is proof that you don't need a happily ever after to be a good romance book.

To be totally honest, the marketing did this book a massive disservice. It's not a cute romance novel like I expected, it's a journey of a woman's self discovery. I don't often review books, but that along with extremely unlikeable character's and plenty plot twists I didn't like caused me to give this 2 stars. The only thing preventing it from being a 1 star is there were a few moments that genuinely made me laugh out loud.

I was hoping for something sweeter and a bit of a happier ending than I was given here. I wasn't a fan of the romance in this or really reading from Zoey's POV, which is unfortunate since it is from her perspective.

I received an ecopy of this book through Netgalley; however, my opinions are my own.

This book is written for complicated, messy women. It's for women who need to be told, "It's okay to be uncertain, and when you're certain, it's necessary to be honest. Don't be ashamed." So, naturally, most of the highly rated reviews heavily shame the MC. This MC simply does not do what most people want her to do, but this reader was praying for the ending that shockingly did happen. So many of her realizations were highlight-able for me, with great writing to boot. However, I agree with other readers that this debut novel's author wasn't given the Stephen King advice of "cut 10%"; in this case, 10% of redundant internal monologue. Overall, for me, still a worthwhile read. Spot on "Out of Your Comfort Zone" recommendation from The Storygraph.

The summary had potential, but the execution fell flat.

I don’t think I would recommend this to a friend.
