Thank you to Netgalley, Alison and St. Martin's Griffin for allowing me to read an e-arc for review.
I really enjoyed the ending but the middle dragged a bit for me, it definitely is not a full blown romance. It seemed to grab one idea and just rehatch the same replay over and over.

Spoiler
If it would have focused on Ezra and Zoey and the romance they did/could have had earlier it would have easily been a 4 star read.
Synopsis: Zoey Marks believes she’s cursed. She’s watched 2 of her best friends jilt their fiancee’s and believes it must be because of her. After the second failed engagement, Zoey meets Rylan Harper III, her best friend’s, Hannah’s, cousin who is too good to be true. She falls madly in love, but because she thinks she’s cursed, she’s unable to accept his marriage proposal.
When Hannah tells Zoey she’s getting married, in Ireland, Zoey agrees to be her bridesmaid thinking if she can watch Hannah successfully get married, she can get Rylan back and make it to the altar with him.
However, once in Ireland, Zoey meets the grooms brother, Ezra, and complications arise.
What I liked: I enjoyed watching Zoey and Rylan’s relationship develop. Rylan is a great character, and honestly, he is a little too good to be true, but I loved him. I also enjoyed Zoey’s relationships with her female friends. And of course, any book set in Ireland works for me.
What I didn’t like: I don’t believe anyone is cursed and so the whole, I’m the reason no one gets married, I’m the curse, was a little unbelievable to me. Especially because the reasons for the weddings being cancelled were revealed and very plausible to me (for the most part).
And going back to Ireland-this was a failed opportunity for me. Yes, the story is set in Ireland, but the groom wasn’t actually from Ireland, he was born there and then early on his family moved to the US. There wasn’t a lot of Irish charm in this story.
Overall, though, this book was a good romance. I enjoyed reading about Zoey, I loved Rylan, I liked Hannah, and I liked the ending of this story.

medium-paced
I think I may be older than the intended audience for this book. Instead of being the typical age of a bridesmaid, I am the age where the children of some of my friends are starting to get married. This book had a cute story about Zoey, whose presence as a bridesmaid seems to curse brides and stop their weddings from happening. She also has a dreamy boyfriend who lives in the perfect apartment, and they are the perfect couple. Except that Zoey doesn’t want to get married.
The story continues when her best friend gets engaged and quickly plans a romantic destination wedding in Ireland. But, will this wedding go through? Will Zoey get married, or at least engaged to her boyfriend?
Overall it was a cute, light read. However, I did find that it dragged a little bit for me about two-thirds of the way through the book. I just found Zoey to be a little shallow. I think that was part of the storyline, but it just got old.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

Okay so I guess I didn't really get the *point* of this book and the purpose behind zoey's story. The whole bit of her being a ~complicated woman~ just fell really flat to me... and adding in a romantic interest to the last five pages just made no sense. I genuinely couldn't figure out her motivations with Rylan and the crux of her wariness of marriage. Right after reading a better romance (Book Lovers), this paled in comparison.
Book Review: ****/5
It's Publication Day!!!! I received this book form Net Galley and St. Martin's Griffin Publishing in return for an honest review and I need to thank them so much. I loved this book. It was such an easy fun read, and I absolutely loved the ending.
Zoey Marks believes herself to be cursed because every time she is a bridesmaid the wedding never makes it too happily ever after. She has started to lose faith in the meaning of forever when it comes to a marriage. When her boyfriend of two years gets down on one knee her fears manifest themselves into an explosion of her relationship. Heartbroken for the first time Zoey is struggling to carry on. Suddenly her best friend is engaged to a Man she just met, and she is once again a bridesmaid. To make the situation worse her ex-almost fiancé will be attending the wedding and he is bringing someone with him. Zoey is determined to get her best friend down the aisle, prove to herself that she can say yes and get her man back.
This book was great. It had a second chance trop along with an enemy to lovers trop and a Gloomy/Sunshine trop fill. The banter was great. I found myself batting internally between which guy I wanted her to end up with. I loved the strong female character. She knew exactly what she wanted out of life even if she did get lost a little along the way. I loved the realizations that she discovered toward the end. Alison Rose Greenberg did an amazing job. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Bad Luck Bridesmaid was a fun read! I loved this sweet (and not-so-sweet) story about figuring out what you want out of life and love.
Zoey believes she is a Bad Luck Bridesmaid. She has been a bridesmaid 3 times, and none of her brides have made it down the aisle. She herself is more partial to an impersonal affair than a Great Romance. She just can't see herself falling in love and wanting to stay with someone forever.
But then she meets Rylan, the cousin of her best friend Hannah, and falls head over heels in love. For the first time, she can (maybe) see herself staying with someone for a long time. When they break up, Zoey is devastated. Did she make the right decision? Does she has a second chance at Hannah's wedding, held in a romantic castle in the Scottish highlands? What does she really want?
Without revealing too much, I LOVE that Greenberg has written a character who stays true to her beliefs. She is a very believable and relatable character. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it as a perfect escape during the cold winter.

Rampant Misandry Mars Otherwise Interesting And Compelling Debut. Up front: If you're looking at this as a potential romance book... it isn't that. It is more of a women's fiction book, with an interesting take on the genre and in particular the well-travelled bridesmaid trope. My biggest problem here is the truly rampant misandry - the main character here is *constantly* being so utterly bigoted towards men, to the level that if even a female author had flipped this and done the same thing with a male character towards females, every single review would lead off with how misogynistic the character was. Which is my own standard for bigotry: ok for me, but not for thee. If you can flip the demographics from the targeted to the targetter without issue, awesome. But if you would have a problem if that happened... then there is a problem, period. But again, fun and unconventional story outside of the blatant and rampant misandry, and thus one that truly is worthy of consideration. Just, again, do NOT go into this expecting a romance. More of a train wreck, really. Just a particularly entertaining one. Recommended.

This book started out really fun. I throughly enjoyed the backstory to why the female MC is a wedding jinx combined with the details of her relationship with Rylan. I felt like this was the part of the book that not only shined but also had a semblance of realism to it.
The rest of the book? It was just meh. It dragged a bit and just didn’t capture the same engagement as the first 1/3 or so did. I found Zoe exhausting at times and that made me not want to read the book.
Overall, it’s still worth a read if you’re looking for a solid contemporary romance. But, be prepared for the second half or so of the book to drag at times and have a noticeable tonal difference than the first half.
