A surprisingly quick book you can finish in a day. Ginny Carter used to be a famous TV reporter in LA but a car accident changed her life forever. After losing her husband and son in a car accident, she is living the life as a nomad and works as a international aid worker providing assistance in desolate countries. Ginny is estranged from her sister and father in LA and is ready to end her pain by ending her life when she hears a noise behind her. She discovers a young homeless boy named Blue hiding in a nearby utility shed and describes to postpone her plans for suicide by helping Blue.

Through the course of the novel, Ginny and Blue's relationship grows as they learn to trust each other and Ginny begins to accept that she was not the cause of the car accident that killed her husband and son. This novel is well written, the characters are realistic and the story draws you in from the first sentence to the final page.

Danielle Steel is so predictable. But I love her books for a nice, easy read with a happy ending. She's my guilty pleasure.

Nice to read a book with a social conscience. This has been a recent trend in her books, and I like it.

Una historia muy fuerte, no es el estilo que me gusta pero fue una historia que me secuestro. La he leído de un tiron aprovechado el verano.

Trough the first chapter I thought it was going to be crap... but it got better, the ending was a little to fictional tho... but on top of everything I guess I liked it.

Gekregen van Akshay en in India gelezen.

Blue was a great story, but I didn’t think the characters were developed as much as they could have been. It seemed rather simplistic. With that being said, I understand why Danielle Steel is such a popular author. It was an inherently dark story but still rang in as a feel good novel... a good book to pass time without requiring too much thought.

I read this book after many people had recommended it to me and I am so glad they did. Danielle steel does not normally write books in the genre that I like, however this book was completely different to anything I had written. This story was so heart warming whilst heartbreaking at the same time. In some ways we saw the young character in the book as a child and therefore as the reader we felt more compassion towards him and in other ways we could almost relate to his because he came across as such a mature character because of the life that he had lead. The two very different stories intertwined well throughout the book and we felt the same amount of empathy to both of the main characters but for very different reasons. Overall this was a reading highlight of 2o16 and it will take a lot to beat this story.

A heartwarming, feel good story!
