adventurous emotional funny inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

It's been one month since I listened to this book on audio and I still laugh thinking about Agatha's antics. After her husband cheats, Agatha takes to spying on her ex and his new lover, which of course requires buying "spy pants" that have lots of pockets for her spying criteria. She also desperately hits on at least one mail man in one of the funniest scenes I have EVER read. I was seriously CRYING laughing in bed listening -- the narrator was deadpan and had perfect comedic timing. If you like quirky suburban ladies getting into trouble, this is your book!

This book started out pretty well. I could easily empathize with Agatha's anger and hurt over her husband and the dog walker. Her reaction was a bit over the top, but I think it's something a lot of us would like to do if we found ourselves in a similar situation. So I did like her at first, and I could even understand her flipping out for a bit after - flipping out and being judgmental about the husband and his side piece. But - oh, yes, there's a but - this woman didn't seem to like anyone. She was judgmental of pretty much everyone she came in contact with. I don't know, maybe that was the point, maybe the not so cute names for people was part of her mental instability, maybe she's just not a good person. Whatever it was, she got on my last nerve. Soneela Nankani did a good job with the audio, but I don't think anyone could've saved this story for me. In the end, Agatha Arch is Afraid of Everything had a good narrator, a really good narrator (which is the only reason for the extra star), and a terrible main character. The odd thing is I usually like a snarky character. Sarcastic wit is on of my favorite things about many books, just not this one. For whatever reason. this one just couldn't pull it off.

I listened to the audio and it made me laugh. Agatha is a bit nuts and kind of mean, yet a very likeable and sometimes unintentionally hilarious character that grows a lot during the book.

Going into this book I was immediately drawn to how fun this book was! This book is told through Agathas eyes. She’s scared of everything and that includes beans and that has to do with a serial killer movie.
Agatha Arch is an author shes married and a mother, she discovers that her husband is sleeping with the dog walker ,and she’s finds this out by finding
them having sex in their shed, soon sh*t hits the fan! She grabs the hatchet and begins to lose it on the shed. Her neighbors are shocked! Soon Agatha fills her day stalking and spying on her husband and his new girlfriend. She goes to the extreme like buying binoculars and climbing trees. The local moms Facebook page was at first supportive of Agatha but when she begins acting “crazy” they end up turning against her. She doesn’t know what to with her self or her feelings, so she sees a therapist who she names “shrinky dink”, the therapist tries to help her because when her husband informs her, he’s not coming back she need help moving on. Agatha had plans to write a thriller book since so many people love a good mystery, but since her husband leaving she hasn’t been able to write. When Agatha begins to face her fears she realizes there’s more to life than her cheating husband. She faces her fears and begins her own adventures! Four stars! This was a quick read and I found myself laughing the lengths Agatha would go!

I found this book to be a refreshing change of pace! Agatha Arch is afraid of a lot of things but thinking her husband was cheating on her was not one of those things. When she finds her husband and the neighborhood dog walker in the shed in her backyard, she takes a hatchet to it and becomes the talk of the neighborhood. Between Agatha coping with this situation with her husband, her conversations with her therapist, her methods of getting revenge, her online conversations with the moms’ group and her interesting way of cursing, this book will have you laughing out loud! Thank you to Dreamscape Media and NetGalley for providing me with an audio ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Quirky and LOL funny

Listened to the audio and loved it! Reminiscent of Where’d You Go Bernadette?
