What a fascinating, quirky read.
It divulges into a world where fears of the most absurd kind exist.
The story of Agatha, a loving mother who adores her two boys. Agatha as a wife who is cheated on by the one person who was a shield from all the things that she was afraid of in this world.
It shows us how even being crippled with all the fears and insecurities, one can slowly and steadily make friends and overcome any situation in life

I love Agatha Arch. I wanted to slap her for a bit there but I love her. A delightful little book.

"Grief, when it comes, is nothing like we expect it to be. All hail Joan Didion!"

Thanks NetGalley for this early read, rather, listen. I wouldn't have grabbed it if I'd realized it was an audiobook (I don't do those, I said to myself). Then I felt bad for not providing a review, so I listened to my first audiobook. And damn, that was enjoyable. Listened while I watered, a little bit at night. I may even listen to another!

i think the intent behind this was decent, bringing awareness to real life illnesses - anxiety/fear but i don't think it was a good execution

Three and a half stars rounded up. I loved Agatha and enjoye being along on her journey. This is a fair representation of life with anxiety and intrusive thoughts, especially when faced with a trauma like finding your husband banging the dog walker in your shed!

Agatha has been fearful of most things her entire life. Now she is suddenly on her own, adjusting to a new life and is at a loss on how to move forward. Her story is an emotional roller coaster, it's funny at times then sad then scary.

The writing is sharp and witty. The author does a nice job capturing the thoughts of someone who lives in fear yet wants to be different. This made for the storyline feeling muddled at times, yet I think that's realistic. I didn't care for the character of Agatha's therapist-that relationship didn't feel realistic- but all the rest I loved. Female friendship plays a big role in this novel, as well as personal development.

Overall this was an enjoyable read that I definitely recommend. Many thanks to NetGalley for my advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Agatha, oh Agatha. A middle-aged woman who is an author and leads a somewhat normal life. She has a husband, two sons, and the weirdest fears. Life is working for her.
Until she goes crazy and destroys the shed in the backyard the day she discovers her husband getting busy with the local dogwalker in the shed.
I loved the descriptions of this book, though I found sometimes they could have been shortened, I understood. Being part of a mom group on FB myself, I wanted to applaud Agatha for calling out some of those women. I loved her brutal honesty and I think I could be friends with her. Agatha had me cringing at some points, the extremes she went to, then had me laughing at other times.
Listening to Agatha face her fears (and tackle them head-on) and learn to stand on her own was inspiring. My heart broke for her and rejoiced in watching her character develop into a strong, single woman.
This is a book I will be recommending. Thank you #NetGalley for sending me a copy of #AgathaArchIsAfraidofEverything

I randomly grabbed this off the library shelf because I love books with quirky characters. It was a funny entertaining book about a woman who caught her husband cheating and how she processes the loss of her marriage. 3 stars because Agatha started to drive me crazy with her over the top antics after a while

Agatha Arch is a character that is made up of all of us, if you’re a little abnormal!!
Laugh out loud story that was a great distraction to life.
Quick read and this one will make you smile for sure.

Oh, Agatha!!! She's so pitiful I don't know if I'm laughing with her or AT her! You won't believe all the things she's afraid of (she's afraid of so many things somtimes she even forgets a few of them)!! Between losing her husband to a dog walker, talking things out with "Shrinky Dink", and trying to salvage her writing career, she is just a hot mess who might just be more like you and me than we care to believe! So funny and relatable, this book is a must read when you are feeling down and out...you can always say to yourself, "at least I'm not Agatha Arch"!!!
An extremely entertaining book. I would love to read more by this author.
