After reading this book I have fallen for the characters even more.
I can't wait to see the rest of the characters fall and the crimes they will attempt to solve.

Fallen is the second in the new series Deep Ops by Rebecca Zanetti
This is a seriously ragtag group of misfits that make up this unit. But they've bonded together over bullets and get the job done, not nearly as unscathed as they should.
Brigid Banaghan is the resident hacker at the secret Deep Ops unit. And her history is definitely colorful. She's not really a match for Raider Tanaka, her handler who takes control to an entirely new level. When they are thrown together on an op nothing seems to go right and you'll likely be surprised they don't end up buried early in the book. But like I said they are misfits, so they find a way to keep moving. And when the attraction build over between Raider and Brigid look out. The mission is high level dangerous, getting in bed with the mob and trying to take down a powerful enemy. All it takes is one string to unravel the pieces.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, a huge love at first read <3
Rebecca Zanetti has a gift to create endearing and outlandish characters with twisted and exciting plots !!
What I particularly liked :
- the main characters (their romance was perfect <3) as the secondary ones with a particular soft spot for Wolfe (and his coffees full of sugar and whipped cream ><), Roscoe (who is just HILARIOUS) and Angus (I'm SO looking forward to have his book !!)
- the different plots (I loved the story of the mafia, the one with the Senator but also the story of human trafficking and of course the obsession of Angus for his serial killer ...)
In short, I loved this book and I must admit that I can't wait to read the book with Wolfe (even if I have doubts about Dana ...)
Brigid Banaghan is a talented hacker who got caught, and as part of a plea bargain deal, she now works for the newly minted deep-ops unit, HIT, under the dubious leadership of Angus Force. Raider Tanaka is her appointed handler, but there is more than just a professional relationship brewing between them.
When Brigid’s father becomes involved in an investigation into mob activity, Brigid and Raider are put front and center of the action. Sparks fly between Brigid and Raider as they get deeper into the investigation and Brigid’s life is possibly in danger. But Brigid is hiding a big secret from her fellow agents, and she is afraid that it could jeopardize everything she has come to love there.
Raider is a great character and very likable. Brigid seems to swing a bit between being very insecure about herself, and knowing exactly what she wants. It was hard to pin her down exactly, so you’re not really sure how she will react in any given situation. I also loved the supporting cast, and how well they work together as a team. Her father was a very frustrating character.
I’m really enjoying this series so far, and would love to read more of it.
I received an advanced copy of the book from Netgalley to review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I'm conflicted. I enjoyed this book a lot, but I just couldn't connect with the couple. It might be because this is a romantic suspense series that's heavily focused on the suspense part. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good thriller, but I like when authors find a balance between the suspense and the romance.
I liked both main characters, and I think Rebecca is a fantastic author who can write a really good and suspenseful storyline, however I feel like she has a hard time making the romance a priority. Which, for me personally, is important.
I am enjoying this series though, and the dynamic between all the characters. I'll be continuing it and hopefully loving the next books more!
*I received a free copy of Fallen from Kensington Books via NetGalley. This has in no way influenced my review which is honest and unbiased.
The pace of this romantic suspense was really fast, and I enjoyed it so much! Barrie was a fantastic heroine, because she had such a big brain, and she was also funny and sexy.
Amazing read, with lots of banter and a great spark between the main characters. There’s a lot of suspense as well, with plenty of conspiracies and secrets to obfuscate matters and challenge Raider and Brigid. Hardly anyone is quite who they seem, be they the designated good guy or bad guy. All the characters are well-written and a little, or even a lot, quirky, each in their own way which makes the story so much richer.
With so many different plot twists and a great many interesting secondary characters whose own budding romances are slowly being introduced, the focus sometimes shifts away a bit too much from the main couple. They have a lot of magic on page but I’d have liked them to have had a bit more time to really get to know each other and learn to trust. Trust and honesty, due to circumstances, is not exactly in abundance when it comes to this couple or even their group of friends in the Deep Ops unit. At the end Raider and Brigid’s relationship progresses a little too fast to my liking though, the HEA bow tied too swiftly and neatly to get to the required formulaic ending.
