Okay, I’m a little mad with this book! Everything was going great, I was loving the energy and the chemistry between Tuck and Sabrina but then wtf happen?

After she got pregnant, they started to act so out of character and is was so boring and annoying!! The last 30% of the book were pain and Sabrina was annoying me

Honestly, I was surprised that I didn’t like the next installments in the Off Campus series (and yes, I have set my expectations quite low given that they’re YA, but still). I really enjoyed The Deal more than the other two — let’s not count The Mistake because after 7 chapters, I couldn’t power through it.

I think for The Goal, I was thrown off by Sabrina. I’d like to think I have a strong personality, but I would dislike myself to be “compared” to Sabrina’s character. Most of the time, she just read “bitchy” enough for me to hate her. If I was struggling, and someone genuinely wanted to help me, I wouldn’t turn it down and not because I think he/she has the capacity to make my life easier but because life is about making companionship/relationship/friendship. Sabrina’s pride and ego got in the way of her life; yes, life’s been hard on her but I wish she had more “positivity” in her.

Another reason why I didn’t like this much was Tuck’s personality. I couldn’t put a finger on what’s wrong exactly, apart from he’s too good to be true. I wish there were more struggle on his part, on top of Sabrina not being into him. I felt he was too submissive and had taken more control. He’s probably the most responsible out of their clique, but it didn’t get deeper than that. Plus, I think because of how he was presented, I already expected he’d see positivity in everything and be ready/mature to take responsibility. He wasn’t given a lot of room for growth and development.

All in all, Elle Kennedy is a great writer. I was entertained by her NA books nonetheless, and I wish she would write more NA novels.
