i have a lot of thoughts about this book so buckle up. first of all, i read this book because the main character is a doctor so that’s a slay, especially as most MCs in romcoms are writers/publishers/etc. i hated the love hypothesis so it’s nice to have a woman in healthcare that isn’t that.
i obviously loved the medical aspect of this book. i loved nico. the characters were great, & the story line was fun. i also thought it was well-paced & entertaining.
however, the writing was very hit or miss. some of the interactions between the characters were very stiff, specifically when it came to the friendships in this book (less so the relationship) — but the friendship aspect was still fun. also, this book does use the miscommunication trip… but it does serve a purpose for the characters & the story… but it’s still there.
there also were some sexist undertones in the book so that wasn’t great either.
i will say the climax of the story was very fun & very much emphasized the rom(com) while the rest of the book was more (rom), so i did get some laughs in there.
overall, this book reads like a better-written wattpad book, & i was entertained the whole time. i read it in a day (which is clearly not unusual for me), & if you like a fun romcom, you would probably like this book. :)

I like that the issues and climax were more “dynamic” HOWEVER it also felt semi-repetitive too. Idk why the MCs were talking around in circles so much.
Moderate: Stalking and Gun violence
Minor: Death of parent
