An interesting but somewhat confusing look into the distant past of the Star Wars Galaxy. Without access to hyperdrive capabilities, they still have a mode of travel that is fast enough to visit several systems and several worlds. There's also talk of an ancient culture that isolated them here. This strange mix of different species.
So we don't find ourselves at the beginning of anything, but it the middle of something new, yet still familiar.
I enjoyed the story, but largely this book leaves me with a lot of questions, that it seems will remain unanswered.

Why are all of the Star Wars books I have read filled with overuse of the words haphazard and cacophony?

I have very mixed feelings. While the setting and the look at the uniqueness of the early Jedi order are very interesting. I find this book to be not as engaging as I had hoped it would be. Some instances almost reminded me of 'Aftermath' with an unkillable main character no matter what is done to her. With the final climactic battle seeming to be very quick and less exciting than I hoped the final confrontation that the entire book built to would be, but perhaps that was the point? 3 stars for this Legends installation.
Enjoyed the beginning of the Jedi and Sith and I'm excited to follow how they change as they get to the Skywalker movies.
I don't love how it switched timelines, but it made sense.
