This is one of this years selection of Quick Reads. I devoured it in an hour and I bloody loved it. Under 200 pages but a brilliant short story with plenty of twists and turns throughout making it a gripping, page turner. Deadly. A clever story. A great outcome. Do you really know your neighbours? Highly recommend. Well enjoyed. One to remember.

I was lucky enough to receive a review copy of The Skylight which is a absolutely gripping story about two couples who live in the same block of flats. Jake and Simone and Alina and Gus.

Simone does not get on with the couple Alina and Gus due to their building work of a kitchen extension making noise and mess. However, the extension has a skylight in which Simone can look right into their flat from her bathroom undetected. One evening when she is alone in the flat she sees something that will change her life forever.

This is an absolutely gripping book I flew through it and it is non stop action. I thought I knew what was going to happen but I was so wrong. Fans of Louise will love this latest addition to her books and new readers will be enthralled by it. I will definitely recommending it !

Thank you to Hannah at Midas PR for the invitation to help celebrate 15th years of this fantastic initiative. I will definitely seeking out the others in this year’s collection. They are available from 27 May from bookshops or your local library.

I really enjoyed this short story by Louise Candlish. I am surprised how much story was packed into such a short book. The character development was spot on, and I can’t make up my mind whether or not I am sympathetic to the main character or not! Reading the book, I kept getting the impression there was another twist coming and found myself not disappointed! I cannot wait to read “the other passenger” by this same author, which I have already purchased.
