This one was more of a mixed bag for me. There were still some good stories but a lot were just confusing like Oh Susanna and The shopping bag with the cat one. I don’t know what happened but the quality kinda jumped…down.

Some stories are spookier than others and some are way funnier then it's decent!

An excellent way to introduce young readers to folklore, and also to haunt their dreams into adulthood with those illustrations.

Still just as fun as I remember them being! It seems like the shorter the story the creepier it is to me, and the original illustrations are a must when reading this!

There always seems to be one that is sort of personally scary, like book one had the lady driving with the high beam truck following her. This one has a lady on a subway with "drunk" men the last one being dead with a bullet in his head. This I find actually kind of frightening because they are so easily imagined and personal in a way, like I can believe it to be true.
