Cute story overall, some scenarios felt very unreal though, like Paul forgetting to take back his phone after showing Mia the text during their dinner.

Like didn’t love. The unfolding is good and it has some literary moments, but not as much real character development or depth as I want. I did end up loving the lead characters and am glad for their choices.
But it may be a translation, in which case, something well may have been lost.

Such a great story! I loved the plot twist near the end. It was refreshing, necessary and interesting. There was just one thread still needing to be tied up at the end that never was, but overall, it was excellent. I would definitely read this again, perhaps in Spanish or Portuguese. :)

P.S. From Paris was my first introduction to Marc Levy, but only a mediocre one. If he is the most popular French writer, I would have expected smoother prose and less of the jilted, almost amateur style the characters spoke in for the first three-quarters of the book.
By the last quarter, the plot picked up intensity and I became truly invested for the first time. Whether this was intentional or not I'm not sure, but the jilted prose may be more to blame on the translator than on the writer.
The title is a solid, entertaining read, but not groundbreaking.
