Struggled through this. I liked aspects of it, it felt unique in ways, but it felt very drawn out and I didn't feel invested. Didn't always feel natural as far as dialogue. I would still give this author another try.

This book started off strong, but then the story bridged into disbelief for me. There were just so many things that didn’t make sense - including the mysterious reveal of the mysterious cult. And, while this is incredibly minor, what was the point of the news reporter and the hospital admin’s executive assistant. I don’t think they were written in a way to be meant to be read herrings but also…they were included without any resolution on why or any kind of comeuppance.
