This slim volume is a worthwhile companion to David Cronenberg's excellent film, providing background on the special effects and the cast, and more importantly, on the interesting relationship between the director and the author whose work inspired the film. It's not an essential book, but useful background if (like me) you're curious as to how this unique and substantial film came to be.
