Funny, compelling voices and unique format made this a great summer read

I really loved this quirky quick read. Now I want to see the movie!

Where'd You Go, Bernadette is laugh-out-loud page turner right from the start. Maria Semple has found the right blend of irony and sweetness in this send up of Seattle, Microsoft, private schools, and high concept architecture.

I wasn’t convinced at the start, but I loved it by the end. Wonderful character portrayals, excellent sense of place, and a really fun story that offers many opportunities for meaningful introspection.

It’s a fun light read that does dive into some deeper, darker topics. I enjoyed that it was told through letters and emails and was written from the perspective of the daughter.

The ending wrapped up nicely and neatly. It’s a lighthearted mystery and I can easily see how it’s a favorite.

Enjoyed the quirkiness of this novel. And definitely related to Bernadette -- not in the sense of her IQ, but in the predicament in which she found herself. You have to suspend disbelief with some of the storyline in this one and be willing to accept nontraditional, flawed-but-lovable characters. If you're up for that, you'll enjoy this read.
