This was so unique! The format of this book is unlike anything I've ever read before and I really enjoyed that, once I got hip to it. Admittedly at times, it got a little LONG feeling, but overall, really fun and enjoyable.

One Fun Read.....

Why's that?

Maybe it is because:

*I have a fascination with cold places

*I love books that use various forms of correspondence

* I dig a spunky female narrator

* I love berries and blackberries play a role in this work, you'll just have to read it to find out.

* I like being able to laugh at the absurdity of society and this book gave me ample fodder for this. Granted, I almost fell off the elliptical and was attracting the odd reactions from my fellow gym goers on one occasion. So select your reading location carefully. Plus, who are these people who find laughter suspicious and plugging away straight-faced for hours on the treadmill normal....not I.

Oh just read the book. I particularly liked the Seattle references, perhaps because I was so recently there. Also, it pairs well with some recent viewings of the Portlandia...that pokes fun of another Pacific NW destination.

crazy readable (started at the airport and finished by the end of my short flight) but a little underbaked in certain parts. i also agree with previous commentators that the story's treatment of its few non-white characters is distractingly one dimensional

I liked this more than I thought I would. I'm not usually a fan of epistolary novels but this one was funny and worked for me. The family is a hoot and the snarky tone sucked me in.

This writing style is a bit hard to follow sometimes with all of the letters and dates attached. A fun read though with some twists.
