I really enjoyed the storytelling. The author writes beautifully, and you could relate to the characters easily.

I’m only giving it 4 stars because it gets a bit boring with the repetitive “i don’t want to give in, but I can’t stop, but I don’t want to, but i want to”. It’s becomes hard or maybe annoying to go through that part.

But otherwise liked it.

As always, I loved spending time in Emma's world. Was it my favorite book of hers? No. But I had a good time, so that's enough for 3 stars.

I liked the main characters. They didn't bother me... but they also didn't got me rooting for them. I honestly got way more attached to the side characters: Jo but also Winny, Tank or Lindy's mother.

The last scene with Lindy's mother had me all up in my feels. It was so beautiful that she still could have a moment full of nice banter with her mother given the situation. And I felt the presence of Pat really helping. That was some excellent writing!

So, in the end, I probably won't be reading this book a second time. But I'm eager to read Emma's next book. Because she has some real gems in het collection and I love (what shines through of) her personality. Definitely a fan of her work!

Patrick Graham carried this whole book for me. The Grahams need to adopt me ASAP because they are literally EVERYTHING. Lindy wasn’t a bad heroine by any means, I just think she fell a little bland for me. I found myself getting annoyed with her for reasons I cannot explain. I also found myself struggling to finish this book—the only reason valid enough to convince myself to push thorough was because of Pat and the rest of the Grahams. I will definitely be picking up the next book in this series though. :)

I'm a sucker for romance, and Emma St. Clair writes a god combo of romance, wit and comedy that really tickles my fancy and hits my happy spot.

I love Pat's character and I enjoyed the movie quotes aspect of the plot and MC's interaction. I like the FMC wasn't a total pushover, but I enjoyed how the couple came back together.

Thank you @NetGalley and Emma St. Clair for the ARC of The Buy-In in exchange for my honest review.

Emma St. Clair, where have you been all my life? You really delivered with this book!

At first, I thought this was going to be a no go for me with the town called Sheet Cake. I love Schitt's Creek, and I know there were many references to the show, but I just wasn't convinced this book would win me over. How wrong I was!!!

This book gave ADHD rep, second opportunities, steam (but fade to black which I normally don't like, BUT the romance was so good...the angst …yikes! So good!), found family, community, and some great flirting!

Characters were so well developed I could relate them to people I know and envisioned how they look. I thought the flow was on point and was never bored. I really enjoyed the movie quotes being part of the MCs communication.

I look forward to reading more about the Graham Brothers.

4.5/5 stars!

Another fabbo ESC read!

What a fun, quirky, engaging read! The town of Sheet Cake has the potential for a lot of happily ever afters, despite it falling apart at the seams. I forsee more evil Waters' getting in the way of progress, but I look forward to each Graham success on behalf of the town.

Lindy and Jo were perfect. Loved them in their dilapidated world, and loved Pat's determination to finally 'get his girl'.

Wonderful story! I'm shipping Tank and Ashlee.
