Woahhh. First off, I guess this speaks to my self aggrandizement but I don’t like that Fitz’s powers can connect so much to Sophie’s. Second, wtf that ending

 ........I feel empty inside
I imagine reading that cliffhanger of an ending + additional chapter was exactly like reading The Mark of Athena's cliffhanger
I can't believe I figured out Alden, and boy was I right to be nervous about Keefe's mental state
I don't even know. I'm in shock

I still love this series, but I have such a weird relationship with it xD Because, like, again, loving it. But it can also still feel very long and over-full? But then you get to the end and it all comes together and you're cheering for it all... I don't know, okay??? I always tend to have segments with these books in the middle where I'm struggling, but then *bam*, the feeling is gone and I'm loving it again.

So yeah... Liiiittle bit anxious about when I get to the longer books...

Anyway. Sokeefe for life. Was always sorta middle of Sokeefe and Sofitz, and then this book made me take a hard left toward the prior. Just because Keefe is everything and I would die for this boy. I loved all the scenes with him in it, including the painful ones. Messenger really did a great job with his arc throughout this book. This poor kid needs a freaking hug T^T And better parents >.> *kicks them in the shins*

There were a lot of reveals and twists in this book, some of which I saw coming from the very start, others which I realized as it drew closer to the reveal, but also still just a lot of stuff. I'm not going to be like "I'm a genius and saw it all!" It's more that Messenger set out all the right breadcrumbs that people could follow them to a lot of the right conclusions. There were still things I wasn't expecting and enjoyed seeing how they resolved (still also sad, though. Looking at you, how they fix the main problem in this book T^T).

Getting to see the other school was cool, as an aside, and I love the characters we got to meet through it. Hope we can see the school again, just because I'd like to see how things go for it.

Overall, a really good new installment, but I am probably taking a small break from the books just because they're so oddly exhausting at the same time as being fulfilling xD

Re read. Always enjoyed this book but I hated the cover not sure what. Skipped the 3rd book I didn’t want to bother with it never liked it as a kid, the problem I find with this series is the way the plot just.. changes every single book. You ask me to describe the plot of this series and my mind goes blank. I’ve been enjoying my re read even though I did skip the 3rd book, and barley read the 1st buttttt that’s alright. What I found that stood out to me was the way the author described Tam and Linh, could’ve just said they had an Asian appearance or the million other ways to describe an Asian person but no she described them as “kpop idols or like they just stepped out of an anime” I had to put my phone down. I know the author meant no harm I was just very confused.
