In true Mary Oliver fashion, this book both filled my heart and broke it at the same time. It’s a lovely book of poetry, and a lovely book about living with, and loving, dogs. If you enjoy either of those, I believe you’ll enjoy this book. (It would make a great gift for dog lovers, too.)

I give a copy of this book to individuals when they’ve lost a beloved dog. Highly recommend for navigating the unique brand of grief that comes with losing a pup.
Good for you if you love dogs and good for a friend as a gift if they have a dog they love. I love Mary Oliver in general, so I'm biased, but the first poem about puppies made me tear up.
