amo el chismesito, vivo del chismesito.
Todos los retellings de la mitología griega tendrán mi atención SIEMPRE, pero LO PICADA QUE ESTABA CON LORE OLYMPUS DIOS.
Admito que al inicio no me gustaba nada que Persephone fuera toda inocente y sin saber nada, pero realmente tiene todo el sentido que sea así, además cuando empiezan a dar pistas sobre su comportamiento y emociones empecé a dejarme llevar por ello.
Hades? Me encanta cuando lo tomamos como el sad boi soft boi y no como el villano, su relación tóxica con menthe ? poor guy, me gustó leerlo, y ver como entiende que merece sentirse bien cuando conoce a Persephone.
Me parece una historia adictiva y graciosa, personajes como Poseidon y Hermes siempre me sacan una sonrisa, quiero ver más de ellos!
btw, hay muchas cosas que duelen, pero me alegra verlo porque son cosas que pasan y el como todos aluden a la terapia normalizada y como medio de sanación me gusta.

Read the volume 1 softcover and had to continue with the online webtoon. Smythe serves up a saucy world of gossipy gods, crushes and back stabbing that's hard to put down.

my rating might confuse others, but 2 for me is still "okay".
this webtoon made me realize that i'm not a fan of greek mythology in general. i thought i was, though. that's why i dared myself to read this. but greek god drama isn't really my thing and this webtoon prove to me how much i wasn't a fan of it. this one centers around hades and persephone and how their love unfolds.
i liked their dynamic and was probably the reason why i continued on with the episodes. but based on what i know about the original tale of Hades and Persephone, i felt like Persephone was too "weak" in this. she's just a little too naive, too nice, and too forgiving. Hades was more of a nice guy here, but also wasn't? i don't recall Hades ever cheated in the original, but here he kinda cheated twice? Hades had past relationships, both in the original and in this, but I kind of felt like in Lore Olympus made him like a "sexual fantasy" along with Persephone.
also, the constant cheating of the other gods and goddesses made me uncomfortable. i know it's an accurate representation of the source material - especially zeus and poseidon, but that's why i don't like greek mythology, because i don't want to read about rich and powerful beings' constant cheating and affair.
i did not forget that this was only a retelling. but greek mythology is already bombarded with so many toxicities, affairs, and unjust. and one of the only "good" things about it were Hades and Persephone's relationship. and this webtoon made it insta-lovey, and sorta problematic. i just didn't like how it was made worse.
this is one of those instances where my dislike for the story is more based on my personal taste, and not quite the fault of the book. it was well done, for the most part. the art style is unique and beautiful. the idea of modernizing olympus is nicely crafted. but again, when i don't like the source material, how could i enjoy the retelling?
