Gelesen wegen der überzeugenden Rezension von Till Raether. Es war auch wirklich sehr gut, aber ab der Mitte hat es sich doch wie harte Arbeit angefühlt, vor allem wegen der sehr langsam und zeitweise gefühlt gar nicht vorankommenden Handlung. Irgendwann lese ich den zweiten Band, aber nicht sofort.

Based on the true story of an unsolved kidnapping in Japan by the Monster with 21 faces this novel follows five men who meet every week at the racetrack and are from completely different backgrounds but are all held together by a deep dissatisfaction with their lives. As their dissatisfaction grows they begin to plot.

Loved this first part of the novel and can't wait to reads part 2!

I couldn't even make it halfway through. Anything interesting happening was obliterated by frequent coming back to frustratingly long, needlessly detailed, incredibly boring descriptions of corporate takeovers.
