This was so incredibly powerful! I really liked it. Very reflective of your our society still to this day, unfortunately. I liked the ambiguous ending. The whole story was significantly different than I expected, primary because I’ve been a few episodes of the action packed show.

Listen... this book is monumental. This book is a pioneer. This book is important. But it just doesn't read very well. Although I adore Atwood's prose to the bottom of my heart, it can be intensely figurative in ways that actively obstruct the storytelling. Although I thought the premise was intensely engaging, the plot was so goddamned slow and un-engaging that it was easy to lose sight of the actual developing story. And most of all, although I think the themes are unfailingly relevant, it is fundamentally wrong to reframe the oppression of women of colour as a white narrative.

This is an advance book at first had a bit of a difficult time to read. After a while I got used to it. The concept is pretty intresting and quite frightening.

Incredibly brutal and awful. It was emotionally draining to some extent since it was so heavy. Idk if I will read the second book since this was quite challenging. If the questions that are left in this are answered then I might read it. Overall not a good time dystopia of dystopias kind of vibe. Still very thought provoking and interesting, that's why I gave this a high rating however this is nowhere close to being a light read in my opinion.

There’s very interesting worldbuilding going on here and I especially liked the historian’s little speech at the end, I just ended up wishing the entire time that Moira was the main character.
