Maggie Nelson is a genius. Lyrical, empathetic, humane, and creepy as heck.

The way in which Maggie Nelson was able to construct an entire character from an aunt she never had the opportunity to meet? But to her it’s not a character it’s Jane… just wow. This was honest and like all murders it was grotesque and Maggie does not shy away from the grim details of Jane’s murder. This was magnetic.

Maggie Nelson is a genius. This novel is so heavy. So beautiful. So haunting. Her words carry so much that I found myself reading pages two or three times for it to sink in. Will be carrying Jane with me.

It is true to say I am completely infatuated with Maggie Nelsons writing.
