The dynamics and evolution between Jesse and Kerry was one that truly made reading this book an absolute breeze.

I liked that Jesse wasn't necessarily ashamed of who he was. He knew the kind of life he had lived, but knew deep down that he wasn't fulfilled doing what he had been doing up to that point. Kerry's desire to keep the one place she felt welcome open spoke to me on a very deep level. Jesse and Kerry were borderline opposites attract. Jesse the playboy and Kerry the nerd.

HOWEVER, this was so much more than just a romcom about men knitting. There was emotional depth to this that went beyond just wanting to change your playboy ways. Jesse was struggling with grief, a grief he wasn't expecting to be as large as it was. Kerry, while dealing with her own grief is dealing with the problem of finding a job that can pay her enough to keep her apartment. Through their grief we see Jesse and Kerry grow beyond just being sad at losing Mama Joy and really understanding that they are both adults and can make their own decisions.

I truly enjoyed covering grief in this the way that Jackson did. The author took you on a journey that shows you how love is found in the most likely of places, while also showing that you sometimes need others to lean on in hard times. I cannot wait to read the second book as soon as possible.

This book was slow to start for me, but I really enjoyed it overall! There are some familiar romance tropes - unexpected roommates, a long undisclosed crush, a playboy secretly in love with the good natured sweet girl. However, there was also the unique backdrop of four brothers running their adoptive mother's knitting shop after her unexpected death, and the fact that Carrie, the female love interest, was a strong, independent woman, rather than a damsel in need of saving or an insecure woman who over thinks everything.

While it is a romance, this book is also a story about family and grief. It talks about families, by blood, by legality, and, most importantly, by heart. It is about community, both the good and bad parts. And it’s about finding your place in the world, your community, and yourself. Oh, and knitting.

I picked up this book because it had knitting in the title and looked like fun and absolutely loved it! I highly recommend picking it up!

This book was so awful. It was such a slow burn, it wasn’t funny, the exciting parts weren’t even actually exciting. I gave it one star just for being written but wow this took a lot out of me to read!
