Cute!! The main character, who I was rooting so hard for in the first book, kind of got on my nerves at times - but still a charming story with charming characters set at a very charming time of year 😌

After absolutely loving the first book, I couldn’t wait to jump in to this.

It didn’t quite get to me like the first book but still a nice festive read

I will be 100% honest, I had a very hard time getting through this book. The main character was not my cup of tea at all. She was bratty and annoying and just overall made it hard to get through. The plot and such was on point, but it almost felt like the author was forced to write a second one. I had very high hopes for this one, but it missed the mark.

As sequels go, it was ok, but it fulfills the typical sequel expectations.
It had a little more clichés and some society notions regarding gender, rave and age that will not age well.
Nonetheless, it is still a palate cleanser for my mind.

This book takes us back the the Christmas Bookshop (McCredie's) and Edinburgh and picks up where the last book left off. Carmen is still trying to save the Christmas Bookshop from financial ruin, she is reeling from her breakup with Oke, her sister is trying to get her to move out, and a millionaire is trying to buy up the properties in Old Town and turn them into shops selling cheap tourist trinkets. She has managed to have the bookshop be the location for a Christmas movie that provides a little money. But things are changing, even Mr. McCredie is ready for an adventure. What is going to happen to the Christmas Bookshop and Carmen?

This is a story of family, and found family and changing to be true to yourself that is perfect read for the holiday season.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC for my honest review.
