After Reading and love The Christmas Bookshop I knew that I had to continue with this series and pick up book 2 and I was not disponed at all, This Book picks up right where book 1 left off so I defiantly think that you need to give book 1 a read first before picking this one up. But it was lovely to be back with the characters again and see what they have been up to.

Within this one Carmen continues to work at McCredie's bookshop. Money is tight, very tight, and other businesses on the street are starting to sell out to a man dealing in cheap tourist souvenirs. Carmen will do anything in her power to keep that from happening at the bookshop. She's still living at her sister Sophia's house, but space is tight. And things aren't going all that well with Oke either.

Once again, I loved the Characters in this one along with the humour that Colgan has sprinkles throughout her books. Carmen in this book was a little frustrating with her looking at her personal life which became a little repetitive throughout the book but despite that she once again goes on a journey in this book with her wanting at all costs to protect the Bookshop she has come I think it’s safe to say loves!

In conclusion, "Midnight at the Christmas Bookshop" is a delightful and heart-warming novel that invites readers into the enchanting world of McCredie's bookstore and the magic of Christmas in Edinburgh. The Storytelling is captivating, making this book a delightful holiday read that leaves you escaping to a warm and festive feeling bookshop!

This one hurts - I love Jenny Colgan and this series, but the fat jokes and bad communication trope are just way too much.

Not about Christmas. Too much dwelling on the past. No character growth. Bad sequel.
