This was a creepy, well written, addictive novel, and exactly what I needed right now. Audrey Rose is just such an awesome main character, and so is Thomas.
The ending was a bit predictable, but honestly, I couldn't bring myself to lower my rating because of that - this book was just so good and I had a great time getting lost in its pages. The all nighter I pulled in order to finish this was well worth it. Not a lot of books are worth sacrificing my sleep for, but this one definitely is. I seriously can't wait to read the next ones!

I really enjoyed this book. There are not many books out there with an 1880’s detective plot. The reason why it isn’t five stars is I didn’t fly through this book as quickly as I thought I would. But I think I will continue this series, because I feel like if I don’t continue then why did I even read this book in the first place.
One thing that bothered me is it claimed to be a feminist and empowering book. But clearing it was sexist. So let’s see what happens in the next book.

Un perfetto mix, omogeneo ma incalzante, fra mistery, historical fiction e un pizzico di romance. (Thomas Cresswell hai il mio cuore).
I protagonisti mi sono entrati nel cuore, il personaggio femminile principale poi è unico e la trama originale.
Le atmosfere narrate fanno davvero entrare il lettore nelle vibes della Londra del 1888 e nella macabra vicenda di Jack lo Squartatore.
Non vedo l'ora di recuperare presto anche i seguiti!
