absolutely amazing. it had the perfect balance of mystery and romance that i was looking for omg. thomas cresswell is literally perfection
I liked this a lot. Even though I could see where everything was going I was still on the edge of my seat at the end. Really good character development and Audrey Rose is all kinds of badass.
I had some issues with the language at times, I'm pretty sure some of the words used would not be used in London in the 1800's, I find stuff like that to be distracting and a little annoying but there really wasn't a huge amount of it, just a pity they were there at all. Overall though this was really enjoyable and I'm looking forward to starting [b:Hunting Prince Dracula|33784373|Hunting Prince Dracula (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #2)|Kerri Maniscalco|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1489420853s/33784373.jpg|50890346]!
Very entertaining and would like to continue on with the series. However, I predicted the big plot twist at the end very early on, making it more of a 3.5 stars.

Very entertaining. I had my suspicions as to who it was and was correct near the end. Really enjoy the banter between Thomas and Audrey Rose.
This was a really great book! The beginning was really slow though. It took about 100 pages for me to get into it though. I almost DNF it because of just not anything catching my attention. I pushed through because it is super hyped and it has been on my TBR pile for awhile. I felt super connected to Audrey and Thomas. Audrey and I could be the same person and that was something I really liked.
I was thankful I wasn’t the kind of girl to lose my mind over a handsome face.
oh but she does...
Just because I was interested in a man’s job didn’t mean I had to give up being girly. Who defined those roles anyhow?
Audrey Rose's character is trying too hard to convince us she's not like other girls but then she also can be a girl. The generalizations made me sick. Plus the identity of the killer was quite obvious for me, it was boring to try to finish this book. Honestly I thought she was going to solve mysteries and find out who the killer is and do something but it wasn't the case.
big spoiler here but:
“Either your reign of terror is over, or your life is over. You decide.”
I can understand the dilemma when the killers murder bad people or something, but he didn't deserve even to be given a chance after killing innocent women (for an utterly stupid reason only he believes), which is contradicting since this book wants to have feminist undertones.

The prose felt a bit too overdone. Scenes that should have taken moments took pages and pages.
