This is my first book I’ve read from this author and I loved it! I don’t care that she reimagined historical facts because the world she created was so vibrant and perfect for spooky season. I plan on reading everything else she has written now too. Also the romance was cute and a nice break from all the violence in the book.

Okay! So I've never read a book like this before and I was pleasantly surprised! I loved how this flowed and the thought process of the characters.
I absolutely loved Audrey Rose's character development as well as the depth and growth of her relationships with the other characters.
The plot seemed to be well thought out and had a satisfying ending and conclusion.
All in all, I'd recommend this one to others! Can't wait to read more from this author!

It felt like I was reading a Wattpad story. NOT in a good way.

We are on chapter 4, there’s a murderer on the loose and all of Whitechapel is scared to go outside after dark. And what does our main character do ? She goes out in the middle of the night ALONE to find the murderer. I just can’t. No weapons. We are not off to a good start.
If you hate books where the MC constantly makes stupid decisions, don’t read this one.
I guessed who the is killer at chapter 4 and I was 100% sure at chapter 6. When I read a murder mystery, I usually don’t guess who done it, so that tells you how bad this one is. Worst mystery book I’ve read. I didn’t even read the last 10% that’s how little I cared.
It’s so historical inaccurate. So, you’re telling me a girl of that time can just sneak out every day for hours to dissect bodies. A house full of servants, a father, her cousins and a brother but no one can see her sneaking out ? She just get’s caught once outside and faces no consequences whatsoever.
I didn’t like being in the rich MC’s head. She is a walking “ I’m not like other girls”. That was her only character trait. There were so many plot conveniences, so she didn’t even need to develop.
Insta love & zero chemistry romance on top of that. It has wattpad writing, the bad kind.
It did not stand the test of time. You know when you read a book and you can just tell it’s a ya book written in the early 2010‘s, without even looking at the publishing date, yeah this book had that vibe.
