With alternating POVs and red herrings galore, this is an energetic romp through a student boarding house beset by misfortune. Though not as tightly plotted as some of Christie's other novels, the lighthearted (as lighthearted as things can be when chasing a murderer, at any rate) approach to its sweeping cast of characters was enough to hold my attention.

Interesting story, but not much personality from Poirot. I appreciated the logical conclusions that could be made, but the cast of characters was a little too big and hard to follow. Not one of my favorites!
Finished yet another Aggie read that I loved. She might actually be my new favourite mystery writer. What impressed me the most about her sense of writing is the way her books always have around 8-9 different characters, yet she always manages to give each character a proper description, importance and manages not to befuddle the reader in any way with many characters. This was yet another brilliant read for me and the sharpness of Poirot never ceases to amaze me.
