Sarah Andersen is a master of relatability (granted, I am approximately her target audience). Her comics are simple and direct and super relaxed. This is a gentle, quick, light-hearted read - a quick breath of cool air, but it won't sustain you.
Reading Oddball, like her other work, is exactly like sitting next to a friend of yours that you like but don't know well enough. You share stories and you end up saying "I know right?!", and "Me too!" and a wonderful kinship which comes from it.

It's no secret Sarah Andersen is loved by many. Her instagram following awaits her comics to brighten their day with impatience. Just like many of these people, I like her comics as well, so when I saw her book was a 'read now' ARC on Netgalley, I one-clicked faster than you can say yes. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed.
I sent my friend who absolutely loves Andersen's comics a text saying she was going to love the new book. Because I certainly did! I snorted, I wheezed, I laughed, I LOL'ed... Especially the one about the different love languages got to me. I guess you could say my last serotonin molecule got off her ass while reading this book. ;)
100% would recommend if you want to enjoy a little everyday life comedy!

I really enjoyed this one! Sarah Andersen has solidified herself as one of my favorite webcomics to follow. Her totally relatable illustrations make me laugh out loud, even while touching on difficult and/or timely topics.
I feel these. These express my life and I love sharing them. These are absolutely a treasure.

Content Note: anti-fatness, ableism, questionable moments around race
Basically the same notes from Book 1: Enjoyable, light, fun read! I think some of the humor is great, and I enjoy the relatability of many moments throughout. That said, I could do without the ableism and anti-fatness, and the cisheteronormativity was pretty strong here, too. I also found a couple of moments around race to be questionable.

Moderate: Fatphobia
Minor: Ableism
This book is so relatable and I absolutely LOVE the drawings. They were so cute. This book made me lol in real life. This book also helped cheer me up when I was depressed today; seeing the cartoons and how relatable the comic stories are made my day so much better. Laughter is the best medicine, or so they say. Every millennial will get a kick out of this book!!
Oddball is an easy read, took me and my husband 45 mins to read. I also believe this book can help you get out of a reading slump!
I will be reading her other books and recommending this to friends and family!
**I did not find any triggers in this book; I checked “does the dog die” app and it also said there weren’t any triggers **

This book, like all of Sarah's books, was hilarious. Not only could I relate to some of the comics, but I saw my Gen Z daughter in a lot of them as well, plus numerous friends and family members. I love her drawing style and her sense of humor. She never fails to make me laugh out loud.
