I devoured this book in 24 hours. Was it life changing? No. It was though a really easy read with a pretty standard plot that was entertaining and kept me engaged.

The positives were definitely the audiobook (I did a tandem read) with the narrators doing a fantastic job. I also loved the MMC, and how all in he was for the FMC.

Some negatives were, that this was arguably wayyyy too long. Like over 500 pages for a sports romance book. Some of this could have definitely been cut out and not missed. Also, although I love a good spicy book, there was a lottt of spice. Like it felt like every other chapter the MCs were doing it.

If you’re just looking for something light to read in between heavier emotion books, definitely check this out.

I didn’t hate it, but I also didn’t love it unfortunately. It was definitely a cute hockey romance - and I really did enjoy the depictions of the hockey games, those were done very well!! But I felt the book was just so long, and so many things were introduced but not fully fleshed out. And I did really like the male love interest Chase (I’m a sucker for an overprotective borderline-brute), but I couldn’t help but cringe every time he referred to women as “chicks,” which was a lot. I think it would’ve been a lot stronger of a story if it had just been shorter, so I’m excited to give the second book in the series a try!

I liked the first half of the book - even though it was slow at points and there was a lot of filler. But the last half was way too cringey and cheesy for my liking and I say that as a sucker for romance. Also some of the plot just felt very unfinished
