This was a cute story. I wanted to read it because I like stories about journalists. Charlotte is an enjoyable character who writes for the sports section. She is given an opportunity to write an anonymous column and she ends up in a battle of wits with a rival paper. While out covering a horse race, she encounters an oddly dressed, yet charming man. She ends up set up with him by a mutual friend, who isn't aware they have already crossed paths.

I liked the banter between the columns, but I felt like we didn't get to see enough interaction between the couple to get a sense of why they were really attracted to each other. A lot of things happen off the page, and the story is pretty clean. The story was cute and interesting, but was a little lacking in the actual romance department. Although Derry does pull a few romantic gestures, like sending gifts and things. Charlotte is a rather likable character, even though there were a few times I really wanted her to allow explanations instead of always jumping to conclusions. If you are looking for something light, mildly humourous that you could recommend to anyone, this book is for you.

I received a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
