What i liked:
-the characters were all so fleshed out and had different voices
-the depiction of war was brutal but not as harsh as that in between shades of grey.
-the character relations and the idea of newfound families where some are lost.

What i didn't like:
-We didn't get feedback on whether Joana's and Florian's families were alive.

“Who was I?
I looked down at Joana and the children.
Who did I want to be?”

this book made me cry and it made me laugh, i love florian and joana so much. the ending left me wanting more :,)
