Finally out of my reading slump although I’m still getting into books I’ve kept on my TBR too long.

This was an interesting book, the stories were interesting and they kept me engaged throughout. However, the writer kept mingling stories that it got confusing and wasn’t flowing. It was frustrating till about past halfway when I realised it wasn’t one continuous story but a compilation of various people. Maybe I didn’t read the description of the book well but I wish the chapter were a lot clearer from the start so that I wouldn’t be confused.

Still 6.5/10 would recommend.

Brilliant collection of short stories centred on journey of several Ugandans who choose to make Britain their home. Many references to Manchester. Some stories very sad. Others have have parts where very funny.

Some of the stories were slightly mid. But I do have to give it to Jennifer, the one's that were good, were realllllly good.

I had very high expectations because the literary community has been raving about it. It's somewhere at a 3.5 for me.
