Not to be dramatic but I think this is my favorite coming of age romance novel I've ever read??? Edge of my seat the whole book, absolutely loved every character. Didn't want it to end. Can't wait to read what's next of hers!

3.3? Definitely found it super compelling in that I stayed up my way too late wanting to know what happened, and read it all almost in one night. While the writing wasn't particularly lyrical or complex, the characters did feel pretty real and I obviously did get really sucked in.
It almost felt a little cheap the way the author kept mentioning the terrible terrible way that Persephone had messed things up with Sam, like a stronger writer could have made the story compelling in a different way? But again, it worked and stayed up till I was almost 80% of the way through and realized that she had slept with the brother Charlie before I could put it down. I know it has a pretty perfect happy ending, that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. the romance and sex were light moderate level. I would maybe read another of her books if I was in the mood for some fluff. A lot of the beats felt v reminiscent of the summer I turned pretty with the brothers and the lake and summer house.

Protagonist is selfish, self-centered, cheating, and inconsiderate. Not the kind of woman I want to be or hope anyone else is. Vengeful teenage sex scenes top it off (negatively) though glad for restoration.
