A very powerful and emotional book. I had so many emotions while reading this book and I had to keep reading to see what happened next to our characters. A great historical fiction that takes place in Richmond, Virginia. Mentions many historical towns in Virginia that many tourists visit each year but often the African American slave narratives are missing or lost. This book although fiction is centered around very real people and real locations. A must read.
