This was such a cute read!

I love that it was about a Puerto-Rican heroine and an Irish hero, and we learned so much about both of their cultures! This is a childhood friends to enemies, to fake dating to lovers romance and from the first page I was immediately sold on Mila and Liam's romance. The one thing I would mention in terms of the romance is that there was all this build up and tension and then...fade to black. Which was a bit disappointing. But overall I loved how each of the characters had such well-rounded backstories and you really both learn to grow and be better for themselves, and for each other.

I loved this story; the characters, the mischievous side characters, the cultural expression, the tension, the resolution. This story flowed so naturally. Sweet and heartwarming.

I picked this book up out of the blue. Never having heard of the author, and with no recommendation, I read this story and was pleasantly surprised.

This hit like one of those romcom movies you love to watch. If I had my way, this one would be up for a movie adaptation. All the warm feel goods.

Ok, I have a type. I love romcoms that employ the enemies to friends to lovers and anything centered around food. Lol. My personal love languages.

So enjoyable.

Ok, not great. The first half of the book was quite good, and both lead characters were likeable. The second half devolved into lots and lots of noble (and public!) speeches which were not only implausible (no one speaks extemporaneously as well as this, especially when they are emotional) but veered a bit into the cringeworthy. And the whole premise of the book—that a couple would allow their respective grandparents to essentially blackmail them into getting engaged—simply never rang true.
