I give this a solid “this was fine!” It’s a standard thriller with some twists, shady characters, red herrings, and the main character coming out triumphant (spoilers? But, you know, it’s a book, you could assume how it would end). In this, Cecily is looking to land that career-making interview by agreeing to do a dangerous mountain climb with a man trying to break a world record. Little did she know that the danger couldn’t be just the mountain itself… is there maybe a tad too much mountain climbing jargon that I skimmed? Were there weird dangling plot threads left? Both yes, but still a page turner.
