I’ve got very mixed feeling for this one hence the three star rating. It started off really strong for me. I loved finding out about the mountain climbing process and think the author did a really good job of explaining it for those like myself that have no experience with climbing of any sort. I loved the snowy, isolated mountain setting so much.

Unfortunately however the mystery element in this book just fell so flat for me. It was a very slow burn throughout, with the tension increasing gradually which I don’t mind if the ending blows me away. Unfortunately the ending of this book just felt very movie villain cringe and I just didn’t care for it at all. Towards the middle of the story I was finding it very hard to get through and I think this story could have been a fair bit shorter without really missing any key points.

Overall an ok read. I had such high hopes for this one but it just didn’t deliver for me and was left feeling very underwhelmed.
