When I read River, book 1, I was a little apprehensive at first. Young adult is not usually a genre I enjoy, but good God almighty! This author has a magical talent for drawing you in and never letting you go. And Fate was like cocaine laced with adrenaline.
I lost count how many times I was like, "What in holy hell?"
The twists and turns shocked, thrilled, and sometimes angered me.
The characters stay with you long after you put the book down. You cheer for them, despise them, and secretly love certain ones, (not going to give anything away by revealing which one).
Lesli broke my heart several times, which is a testament to her writing skills. I never knew which way the story would unfold, and the world-building was beautifully done. She gives you just enough to spark your imagination.
Just a little warning. This is not your typical YA book. This is so much more! It's a dark, sexy, intriguing roller coaster of a ride, not for the faint-hearted.
The first 2 books in the Beginning of the End Series, River, and Fate, are the best Young Adult Series I have ever read. If you haven't surmised yet, I adore this series, then reread my review from the beginning. I devoured Fate, and I am chomping at the bit for the next one.
Trust me, grab yours today. You won't be disappointed.
