It’s Ruby Dixon writing about Not Hoth. It’s always going to be a 5 star read. I love these books and will never tire of the series.

Definitely my favorite Ice Clones book so far! Aidy and Corvak were such a great couple. I definitely like stories where there's more external conflict than internal and this one totally delivered on that. Aidy and Corvak were a team the whole way though! I can't wait for the next one.

This was not at all what I was anticipating when a gladiator ran off with a human woman over his shoulder when this series started. Corvak was such a cinnamon roll, even though he was a bit clueless about what was going on. I mean, when your frame of reference is effed up gladiator games, it’s not shocking that the conclusion you draw is “this is the hunger games”. Aidy was super relatable and pragmatic with her decision to temporarily put aside the “you’re mine” and similar declarations and prioritizing sticking with her best shot of survival and picking her battles. It was fun to see the metaks again, and kinda wild how everything went down there.

Another 5 star read from Ruby Dixon. I have yet to read a bad book from her. Even the ones with characters I'm not a huge fan of (looking at you Liz and Bek and Maddie) are still amazingly written and fleshed out. This universe is huge (that's an understatement, trust me) and you would think that would make keeping all the story lines and cross-overs in order difficult, but surprisingly its not. You would also expect the plots to be repetitive after so many books (seriously its like...80+ books in this universe) but Ruby always brings something new to the current book that makes it stand apart from the previous ones.

In this one for example, I loved that Aidy didn't fight Corvek or the resonance very much. She felt in her gut she could trust him and even though she was terrified and didn't know what was going on, she listened to her gut instincts. She also didn't freak out on him whenever there was a miscommunication or a difference in how they think.
I have no notes. This book was perfect and I cannot wait for the next one from Ruby!

I thoroughly loved this book! Aidy and Corvak were such a breath of fresh air. I loved seeing them get to know and come to depend on each other. Ruby masterfully played up the survival aspects of this book, to the point that I seriously wondered at points if the main characters would survive the night, despite knowing there was a guaranteed HEA. I thought Corvak’s plan for winning the “challenge” he thinks he’s in was ingenious, and Aidy’s
khui-gifted language abilities
were an interesting (and much needed) addition to the ice planet resource bank. I’ve always been fascinated by the metlaks, and we get to see a lot more of them in this book. They are both more complex than we’ve seen before and just as gross and violent as ever. I loved this expansion to the lore.

This book also did a nice job of teasing April and Valmir’s story, which I assume is up next. I can’t wait!
